How to repair the deformed aluminum alloy window frame?

The deformation of aluminum alloy window frame can be repaired by the following methods:

  1. Initial repair: Use plastic hammer, wooden hammer, aluminum hammer or flat hammer to make initial repairs to the bent area. If this there is difficulties to do so, just heat the area and hammer it again. When repairing the corners, the aluminum alloy plate should be knocked from the back to avoid scratches and knocks on the panel.
  2. Virtual force knocking: Place the hand iron on the flange surface and use the virtual force knocking to make the outer panel flat. Use a wooden hammer to knock the raised parts of the panel, and use a flat hammer to repair the uneven parts. It should be noted that the aluminum alloy plate is soft and easy to be extended, so the knocking process must be gentle and accurate.
  3. Heating repair: The rigidity of aluminum plate is relatively strong but the toughness is poor. When external force acts on the aluminum plate, a large area of dent will appear around the force point. Therefore, the aluminum plate can be heated when repairing to enhance the plasticity of the aluminum plate. Before heating, a wet cloth should be used to prevent the heat generated by the flame from burning the undamaged aluminum alloy surface.
  4. Check the repaired surface: If the repaired areasurface is higher than the undamaged area surface or the strength of the repaired area is reduced, a shrinking operation shall be performed.
  5. Repair the dented parts of the inner panel: For the parts without protrusions, apply putty and polish to repair it. For the parts with protrusions, use an industrial heating gun to heat the damaged parts for about 30 seconds, and then quickly tapitwith a flat hammer to restore it to its original shape.
