Aluminum profiles can be divided into 1-9 series according to the different aluminum content and the different ratios of the added alloy components:
1xxx series representatives: 1050, 1060, 1070, 1000 series aluminum plates are also called pure aluminum plates. Among all series, the 1000 series has the highest aluminum content, and the purity can reach more than 99.00%.
2xxx series representatives: 2A16 (LY16), 2A12 (LY12), 2A06 (LY6), with high hardness, among which the copper content is the highest, about 3-5%. 2000 series aluminum plates belong to aviation aluminum and are not often used in conventional industries.
3xxx series representatives: 3003, 3003, 3A21. It can also be called rust-proof aluminum plate. my country’s 3000 series aluminum plate production process is relatively excellent. 3000 series aluminum plates are mainly composed of manganese elements, with a content between 1.0-1.5.
4xxx series representatives: 4A01, 4000 series aluminum plates, which belong to the series with high silicon content. Usually the silicon content is between 4.5-6.0%. It belongs to building materials, mechanical parts, forging materials, welding materials; low melting point, good corrosion resistance.
5xxx series representatives: 5052, 5005, 5083, 5A05 series. In my country, 5000 series aluminum plates are one of the more mature aluminum plate series.
6xxx series representatives: 6061, which mainly contains two elements, magnesium and silicon, so it concentrates the advantages of 4000 series and 5000 series. It is a cold-treated aluminum forging product, easy to coat, high strength, and strong corrosion resistance. 6xxx series is the most frequently used product in the market.
7xxx series representatives: 7075, which mainly contains zinc. It also belongs to the aviation series. It is an aluminum-magnesium-zinc-copper alloy. It is a heat-treatable alloy. It is often used in the manufacture of aircraft structures, high-stress structural parts and mold manufacturing that require high strength and strong corrosion resistance.
The most commonly used 8xxx series is 8011, which belongs to other series. Most of the aluminum plates are mainly used for bottle caps, and are also used in radiators. Most of them are used as aluminum foil, which is rarely used.
The 9xxx series belongs to the spare series. The International Aluminum Plate and Strip Federation specifically stated that it is to deal with the emergence of aluminum plates containing other alloy elements.
